How I will use the Blog

We had a nice start to the year! The children and I are learning the routines of the Middle School. We are getting used to bells (actually kind of a tone rather than a bell) and moving from place to place. I’ve been proud of the way the kids have responded to the challenge. They have helped me figure out what is going on, too! All in all, our first draft of a week went pretty well.

Look the Friday Folder in your child’s backpack each Friday. In that folder will be all the communications for the week: our weekly newsletter, announcements for music or sporting events, and other special announcements.

In addition to the Friday Folder, I have this blog. I’ll be updating you with photos and posts about what is happening in our classroom, with science or learning related videos or articles, and with “breaking news” from our classroom. I’ll also link the Friday newsletter here so if you missed it in the folder, you can get it on line. Here’s a link to the August 22 newsletter.

Also, I have created  a Google calendar where I will put important dates. You can view in on the website, or you can subscribe to it; I made it public so you can import it into your own calendar. That allows you to have automatic updates brought directly to your electronic calendar.

You can find out about the 40 Book Challenge in the navigation bar above. Because of the early out today, I didn’t get to talk through the Challenge with the children, but that is in the plans for early next week.

Finally, please consider subscribing to this blog. I will probably post twice a week, so it won’t be a lot of stuff in your inbox. The benefit is that you won’t have to go searching for as much stuff, either.
