Parents and students, welcome to fifth grade in 5-Peterson. It is a big change for you to come here, but please know that we want you to experience the same care and concern here that you felt at Carrie Lee and John Cline. Please do not hesitate to call, write, or email.

Here are some of the ways you can stay in touch with the happenings in the school, the grade, and the classrooms.

5-Peterson Blog. I will use this space to update you about the goings-on in the courses that I teach this year: Reading, Writing, and Science. If you would like to sign up for email updates, please fill out the Email Subscription form on the right-hand panel of this website. You can also add this blog to your web-reader (such as Feedly), or bookmark and check back to see wha’sup. If you choose to subscribe, you can expect a blog post or two a week. You can unsubscribe at any time.

5th-grade Blog. Above is a link to the main 5th-grade webpage. Please consider signing up for Email Updates from that page, too. We will use that instead of a paper newsletter, which often get lost! It also has other links to other important places. I will also have those newsletters on this blog space, too.

A Poem Place. Also above is a link to a new idea that I am trying this year. I love poetry (both reading and writing) and wanted to get some more of it in the hands of kids. You can click on the link to read more about my goals for that project. Subscribe to that, if you’d like.
